Message You obviously had to create the engine mounts from scratch so that was your opportunity to lower the engine mounts/angle the engine, etc. It's been a while since I've looked inside the Rocker Cover of a KA, but there should be some room to shave that. If it's on the side of the intake manifold then the stock Intake manifold has longer runners that curve downward.

It's funny how you only addressed the power issue. The VG is much better FOR WHAT IT WAS INTENDED FOR! VG is a fitting platform for the Z32. The KA isn't.

Pulling 500hp out of a KA is not cheaper, I'm sure you'll understand that soon enough. I used to build KA's years ago when torquey boosted KA's started leaking into the scene as a direct rival to the SR. The fact of the matter remains, if you want a sloppy boosted stock KA, then sure it's great for that. But at the end of the day, you have to pay to play. You'll dump far more money into the KA to get a reliable 500hp over the VG that only really needs a set of injectors and some bigger breather piping both in and out.

The KA is an inferior motor because many people on here run 700whp on stock internals without a peep of issues. Can you say the same for a KA? Yeah you have to pull the motor to do anything on a VG, but if that's a problem you're in the wrong game. If there's cost attached to that for you then you either have the wrong tools or you're taking it to the wrong place.

And the weight? Ok, there's one point to the KA
But wait, how far forward of the wheel centerline does the KA sit as opposed to the VG? Since you're having problems with the hood at the front of the engine that tells me Higher center of gravity and more mass in front of the wheels. You negate the weight savings once you have the mass "pushed out" like that.

BTW, if cheaper is your principal then you made a mistake. It's cheaper to get 500whp out of a boosted VH45DE, but you get the benefit of one 2 extra cylinders. Don't worry, you still get to hang some additional weight in front of the front wheels and you still have to cut a hole in the hood.
